Who we are

This website, sonsofbostan.com, is operated by ssd.nz, the data controller for the personal data described below. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].

What we collect

If you join the waiting list, we store your email address, the language you used on the site and the dates you signed up and confirmed. We do not ask for your name and we do not build a profile about you.

If you create a player account, you sign in with Apple or Google. We store the account identifier that Apple or Google gives us, your name and email address if they share them (Apple may give us a private relay address), your language, the date you joined, the devices you connected with a link code and your online progress in the game. We never see or store your Apple or Google password.

When you visit the site, your browser's IP address and technical request data are processed by our hosting and network providers so the page can be delivered and protected against abuse. The site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It only sets technical cookies: the session and CSRF protection cookies Laravel needs for security, a cookie that remembers your language, and a cookie that keeps you signed in.

Why we use it

We use your waiting list email address only to confirm your sign-up and to send you one email when The Sons of Bostan launches. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We use your account data to sign you in, to connect the game on your devices and to run the online features of the game. The legal basis is the contract between you and us when you create an account.

How long we keep it

Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 7 days. Confirmed addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or until the launch announcement has been sent, after which the waiting list is deleted. Your player account is kept until you delete it. You can delete it at any time on the account page or inside the game; this removes your account, your connected sign-ins and your online progress immediately, and we also revoke our access at Apple.

Who processes it for us

• Apple Inc. and Google LLC handle the sign-in when you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
• Resend (email delivery, EU region Ireland) sends the confirmation and launch emails.
• Hetzner Online GmbH (servers in the European Union) hosts the website and the database.
• Cloudflare, Inc. provides the network, security and the delivery of some scripts.
• Google LLC delivers the web fonts used on the site, which means your IP address reaches Google when fonts load.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their standard data protection terms.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use or withdraw your consent. Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link that deletes your address immediately. You can also contact us at the address above. You have the right to complain to your data protection authority (for example, in Türkiye the Personal Data Protection Authority, in the EU your national supervisory authority).

Children

The game is intended for adults and the waiting list is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We will update this page when the site or the game changes how it uses personal data.
